The Forum Alte Werft is a former business premises of the Papenburg Meyer Werft. Today it's being used as a culture and conference venue. Located here is a multipurpose hall, a theatre, a gallery and the Kesselschmiede (boiler makers) as well as a painting school.

The old industry architecture has been preserved in the overall picture of the Forum Alte Werft. The steel construction has been integrated into the ceiling.

In the foyer theatre and concert visitors are able to stroll about in the intervals, talk about old times or discuss the performances.

The multipurpose hall is very well suited for concerts, shows balls, banquets, congress events or exhibitions. The hall will hold up 950 people and of course the lasted media and transmission technologies are available.

The theatre at the shipyard offers a fascinating example of successful synthesis between old basic fabric and modern theatre technique. In this special framework not only theatre performances can be organised but also lectures, jazz events or seminars for up to 289 persons.
